Job Summary:
This position will entail responsibility for the day-to-day operations and continual improvement of the warehouse. In this position, you will be leading a team of approximately ten hourly drivers. You will lead the team in providing superior customer service in delivering Batesville product to our customers, licensed funeral homes. This position reports directly to a District Manager within our Logistics organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage warehouse/distribution operations within budget/financial/revenue goals and develop annual budget.
- Provide monthly operations and financial reports to management.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules, government regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Recruit, hire and train new drivers.
- Lead employees utilizing Human Resources processes, including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service in the areas of order taking and customer problem solving.
- Implement strategies to improve operations and inventory efficiencies.
- Team with local Sales Managers, Sales Representative and other Warehouse Managers to identify market needs.
- Understand competition in the market.
- Analyze strengths and weaknesses and seek out opportunities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- A four year college degree.
- Four years management experience.
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA rules and regulations is a plus.
- Fleet management experience.
- Strong analysis and decision making skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
