Logistics Analyst
Corporate Logistics - Pleasanton CA

The Corporate Logistics Department, located at Safeway’s Inc office in Pleasanton, CA has an opening for a Logistics Analyst. We are looking for a highly motivated, quick learning, team oriented person with very strong analytical & computer skills.

Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired, unless specifically stated:

  • College degree in Logistics, or Business related field.
  • Two or more years transportation management/analysis experience, i.e. import/export related business
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team environment
  • Possess excellent organizational and process skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and Word

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for tracking and tracing shipments from overseas origin to US destinations
  • Analyze the transportation cost per lane and commodity
  • Weekly logistics report maintenance, by providing supply chain visibility to several departments
  • Communicate with carriers, warehouses and Procurement in resolving service issues
  • Partner with Global Sourcing and Procurement to ensure data integrity and forecasting
  • Develop and analyze forecasts to determine supply chain strategies and solutions
  • Work as a team player with internal staff and external customers to accomplish least cost/on-time delivery service
  • Responsible for freight payment and resolution
  • KPI creation; Monitor and manage key analytics for vendor performance
  • Special projects as assigned.
