The Corporate Logistics Department, located at Safeways Inc office in Pleasanton, CA has an opening for a Logistics Analyst. We are looking for a highly motivated, quick learning, team oriented person with very strong analytical & computer skills.
Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired, unless specifically stated:
- College degree in Logistics, or Business related field.
- Two or more years transportation management/analysis experience, i.e. import/export related business
- Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to function effectively in a team environment
- Possess excellent organizational and process skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and Word
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for tracking and tracing shipments from overseas origin to US destinations
- Analyze the transportation cost per lane and commodity
- Weekly logistics report maintenance, by providing supply chain visibility to several departments
- Communicate with carriers, warehouses and Procurement in resolving service issues
- Partner with Global Sourcing and Procurement to ensure data integrity and forecasting
- Develop and analyze forecasts to determine supply chain strategies and solutions
- Work as a team player with internal staff and external customers to accomplish least cost/on-time delivery service
- Responsible for freight payment and resolution
- KPI creation; Monitor and manage key analytics for vendor performance
- Special projects as assigned.
