Membership Dinners

A couple of times per year, generally in the Spring and Fall, Women in Logistics sponsors a dinner event with a guest speaker. We aim to keep these events relevant with the times by bringing in speakers to present ideas, discuss current events, or look into their well-seasoned crystal balls. Some past topics include ILWU labor negotiations, the Port of Oakland plans for development and clean air,a UC Berkeley economist on the financial collapse, a “speed climber’s” view of logistics, the current state of the transportation network, etc. In addition to thought-provoking speakers, these events provide an opportunity for industry professionals to network, gather and share knowledge. As importantly, the biannual dinners are important fundraisers for WIL’s scholarship program.
