About

The mission of Women in Logistics is to provide resources for both women and men in the business of logistics, transportation, supply chain management and technology. Our goal is to maintain an information resource network for career development, mentoring, and educational opportunities.

Our History

Women in Logistics (formerly Women in Transportation) was founded by Stacy Roth, in response to the lack of networking groups for women in the industry. In the late 70’s and early 80’s, women who worked in the field of transportation had few resources available to fulfill their needs to support career growth.

The initial meetings were round table forums where members brainstormed about how to structure the group to suit their professional career goals. From these informal gatherings, it was confirmed that women wanted and needed a professional environment where they could network with each other as well as develop business contacts. They also wanted an avenue to keep current on the latest industry actions and trends. Ultimately, the organization’s focus and unique insight into important, relevant topics led to its success as a viable organization. We are the only logistics organization in the United States that provides mentoring resources for its members.
